Who did it?

Everybody seems to be fixated on two things - whether the man in the sex video is in fact de facto Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and whether Datuk 'T' comprising former Malacca Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Rahim Thamby Chik, businessman Datuk Shazryl Eskay Abdullah and Perkasa treasurer-general Datuk Shuib Lazim should be arrested for possession and distribution of pornography.


Everybody seems to have forgotten to focus on the most important element - who actually filmed the man who looks like Anwar having sex with a China Doll?


Somebody must have set up the cameras and recording system. Who did it?


The Datuk 'T' group merely admitted to having organised the screening of the video to a select group of traditional and new media editors at Carcosa hotel recently.


They did not admit to having organised the filming of the sex act.


If Datuk Eskay's story is to be believed, Anwar told him by SMS to return to the hotel room and look for his Omega watch which he had left behind.


While Eskay was looking for the watch in the room, he saw a bunch of wires connected to the back of a TV cabinet. The drawer was locked and when he prised it open, he found a disk recorder and a disk inside.


The Omega watch was retrieved from the China Doll who had apparently taken it.


The recording on the disk is now the subject of the hottest gossip in town and much has been said and written about it.


The latest development is that the IGP said local experts have confirmed that the video was not doctored, but he did not identify the man who looked like Anwar in the video.


Datuk Eskay claimed that on a recent trip to Mecca, he received some kind of divine enlightenment which had somehow affected his conscience and moved him to expose Anwar's weaknesses and failings.


And that led him to link up with Tan Sri Abdul Rahim Thamby Chik and Datuk Shuib Lazim to screen the video to a small segment of the public and later hand the disk to the police.


Datuk Eskay never claimed to have filmed the sex act; he merely found the sex video in the disk recorder.


Which leads to the question that nobody - blogger, journalist, politician or police - has bothered to answer: Who set up the video system?


According to a source, the hotel-spa is frequented by Tan Sris and Datuks, captains of industry and politicians.


And China Dolls and prostitutes from other parts of the world are known to frequent the place too perhaps not to use the spa. 


Could it be possible that the video system was set up by some criminal syndicate to film these VIPs having sex with prostitutes for blackmailing purposes?


Could it be possible that the man who looked like Anwar was filmed by common criminals not for political purposes but for straightforward blackmailing purposes, but unfortunately for him the disk ended up with his 'friend' who used it for a political purpose?


If indeed a blackmail syndicate is behind the filming, how many sex videos involving Tan Sris and Datuks and top businessmen are in the possession of the syndicate? How many of the VIPs paid up to keep things quiet?


This is something that the police should investigate too and not just get some local experts to testify that the sex video was not doctored.
